K.D. Muir’s Entertainment Quiz

OK so it’s fair to say the Geography Quiz didn’t go down too well. It really is the favourite subject of a small demented minority (including myself). To make up for this difficult and tedious exercise that may well have turned people away, I turn my attention to the piece of the pie in Trivial Pursuit that everyone goes for. That’s right, it’s the pink slice or Entertainment (specifically TV/Movies). But I’m compelled to not make it easy on anybody so I am going to go for some tricky ones. Some might even say obscure. I was born in the seventies and because I was a child of the eighties I will keep most of the questions within those two decades. If you are this old it will be a piece of cake.

As I mentioned in ‘The Rugby Blanket,’ I was a TV addict. Because of this, half the questions will be on TV show’s, the other half on movie’s/actors. I actually think the TV sitcom has died a death. There are few that survive more than a few seasons. In the eighties comedy sitcoms were a dime a dozen but by the late nineties shows like Friends just killed all the competition (not in a good way). These days it seems like there’s only room for a couple of shows and nothing else survives the TV trash heap (2&1/2 Men and The Big Bang Theory seem to have longevity that others don’t). Without sounding too much like an old man, TV just isn’t the same anymore (excluding HBO and AMC who seem to know how to make good shows). With that in mind, I will focus on the old days.

Question #6. Who shot J.R.?

When it comes to movies, I have my boyhood favourites but I’m going to focus on the seventies mainly. When it comes to music, movies and TV shows, the seventies is hard to beat. Now while you toil away at this ancient trivia I’m going to sit back in my Lazyboy in my Housecoat and slippers with my pipe in hand and a hot cup of Ovaltine and look forward to retirement.
